Privacy Policy — LinkPocket
Last Updated: August 2, 2026
Overview
LinkPocket is a personal pocket for links and media that runs on your own
device. It has no account, no sign-in, no cloud sync, and no server of our own.
Everything you save is stored in a database inside the app on your device. This
policy explains the limited data handled by the app and by the third-party
services it uses.
Information We Collect
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or
any account information, because the app has no account system. The links,
images, videos, audio, notes, folders, tags and reminders you save are never
uploaded to us.
The following is handled on the device or by third-party services:
- Your saved content — links, titles, descriptions, preview
images, imported images, videos, audio, text notes, folders, tags,
favorites, archive state and reminder times, stored in a local SQLite
database in the app's private storage on your device.
- App preferences — settings such as language, theme and
list options, stored locally.
- Link previews — when you save a web address, the app
connects to that address to read its public Open Graph metadata (title,
description, preview image) so the item has a readable title and thumbnail.
That request goes to the website you chose, not to us, and it may reveal
your device's IP address to that website in the ordinary way any web
request does.
- Analytics events — Firebase Analytics receives anonymous
operational events about app usage, such as which screens are opened and
which features are used. The contents of your saved items — addresses,
titles, notes, media — are not sent.
- Crash diagnostics — Firebase Crashlytics receives
technical failure context such as error type, device model and OS version
when the app crashes, without your saved content.
- Performance traces — Firebase Performance Monitoring
receives anonymous timing measurements such as app start time and screen
rendering time, together with basic device and network-type information.
The app contains no advertising and no in-app purchases, so no advertising
identifier is collected for ad targeting and no payment information is handled
by the app.
How We Use Information
- To store and show the items you save, and to keep them organized by
folder, tag, favorite and archive state.
- To fetch a title and preview image for a web address you save.
- To schedule the local reminder notifications you set, on your device.
- To understand, in aggregate, which features are used and where the app
fails or runs slowly, so we can fix and improve it.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share your saved content with
anyone, and we do not use your data for profiling or for credit, employment,
insurance, or similar decisions.
Device Permissions
- Internet — required to load the preview and the content of
web addresses you save.
- Notifications — required to show the reminders you
schedule. Reminders are generated locally on your device; there is no push
server.
- Camera, microphone and photo library — requested only
when you choose to add a photo, video or audio item. The app accesses only
what you select, and the result is stored on your device.
- Exact alarms (Android) — used so a reminder fires at the
time you chose.
You can grant or revoke each permission in your device settings. Denying a
permission only disables the feature that needs it.
Data Storage
Your saved items and preferences are stored in the app's private storage on
your device. They are not uploaded to a LinkPocket server, because no such
server exists. If your device or platform backup is enabled, the local data may
be included in that backup under Apple's or Google's terms.
Third-Party Services
- Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance
Monitoring (Google) — anonymous usage events, crash diagnostics and
performance traces.
Firebase privacy
- Websites you save — when the app fetches a preview for an
address you saved, that request is handled by the website in question under
its own privacy policy. We have no control over those sites.
The app does not use advertising SDKs, does not integrate a payment or
subscription provider, and does not send your saved content to any third
party.
Your Rights
- Delete any saved item, folder or tag at any time inside the app.
- Delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the app. There
is no server copy for us to hold.
- Turn notifications, camera, microphone and photo access on or off in your
device settings.
- Depending on your region (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA),
you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data, and
you may object to or restrict certain processing. Because we hold no server
copy of your content, most of these rights are exercised directly on the
device. For the anonymous analytics, crash and performance data processed by
Google Firebase, contact us and we will direct you to the correct process.
- We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined
under California law, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Data Security
Local data is kept in the app's private storage area, protected by your
device's operating system and, where enabled, by device encryption. Requests
made by the app and by the Firebase SDKs use encrypted connections where the
destination supports them. No method of storage or transmission is completely
secure, so we limit what the app handles in the first place.
Children's Privacy
LinkPocket is a general-audience tool and is not directed to children under
13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you
believe a child has provided personal information through this app, contact us
and we will help remove it.
Data Retention
- On-device data (saved items, media, folders, tags,
reminders, preferences) is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.
There is no server copy.
- Analytics, crash and performance data are retained by
Google Firebase according to Google's retention policy for those products
and contain no personal identifiers we can link to you.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The revised version will be
posted at this address with a new "Last Updated" date. Continuing to use the app
after an update means you accept the revised policy.
