Rent Evidence Diary Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 4, 2026

Rent Evidence Diary helps people in England organise private-renting notices, deadlines, communications, repairs, comparable properties, and supporting documents. This policy explains what the app stores and how limited operational data is handled.

Information you add

Case details, notes, dates, rent figures, diary entries, repair records, comparable-property records, and imported photos or files are stored in the app's private local storage on your device. The MVP does not require an account and does not upload your case content, attachments, or generated PDF to our servers.

Camera and photo access

Camera and photo-library access is used only when you choose to capture or select a notice or other evidence. Selected files are copied into the app's private local storage so the case can be used offline. You can deny or later revoke these permissions in your device settings.

Analytics and crash diagnostics

When configured for a production release, the app may send limited technical diagnostics and aggregate workflow events through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. These may include app version, platform, language, and typed workflow or purchase status. The app is designed not to send names, addresses, notes, document text, attachments, rent figures, or case identifiers in these events.

Payments

PDF packs are purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play billing. The app does not receive or store your payment-card details. The relevant store operator processes the payment and controls its own billing, refund, and account records.

External websites

The app may open official government or other source links in your browser. Those websites have their own privacy notices and terms, which apply when you use them.

Retention and deletion

Your case data and attachments remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Keep your own backup of anything important before deleting local data. Limited diagnostic records, if enabled, are retained by the relevant service provider under its policies.
